Composition with Large Blue Plane, Red, Black, Yellow, and Gray

1921 is the year the grid arrives: black lines, three primaries, white ground, nothing else. Mondrian spent the next twenty years adjusting the proportions and never went back.

The paper

Enhanced matte 200g is a smooth, non-reflective coated paper, about a third heavier than poster stock. Pigment inks sit in the coating rather than on it, so fine lines and flat colour print without gloss or glare. Unframed prints travel rolled and arrive slightly curled; a day flat under a few books settles them.

The frame

A box frame with a 20 mm face and 33 mm depth, in black, oak or white. Glazed, no mount; the print runs to the edge of the opening. Assembled at the lab, packed once and delivered ready to hang. The framed price is the same in all three colours.

How it is made

Each print is made after you order it, one at a time, at a specialist lab in the EU that prints and frames in the same building. Dispatch takes two to three working days; delivery is four to eight working days door to door.

What you are paying for

A pigment print on 200g paper, prepared from the museum’s own file at the largest size that file carries cleanly. Every print page names the museum, the artist and the year, where the museum record gives them.
